Started this around July or August, finished in November or December, just now getting around to posting it. XD
This was a really difficult concept to get out of my head and into paper. No matter how many times I'd sketch it, something would end up going wrong. Once I had the phoenixes down, the colors for the pair were an entirely new battle. Finally, the background made me art-blocked for a good couple months until I finally finished it. But finally! It's here! And I never want to draw another leaf again!
And then, I had to get around to setting my scanner up again! XD Hope you all enjoy. This is also supposed to be a really symbolic piece, so be nice in your crits. XD
Nice detail! All those vines must have taken a while to draw & colour in. As for symbolism...I am not one of those people who finds symbolism in art (and literature), so I'm clueless.

Please visit my gallery. I would be very much honoured & appreciative.
Ah, yes, I did noticed them being intertwined, but like I said, I'm so horrible when it comes to symbolism. *Laughs at myself* But I think that's great you can draw that sort of symbolism into your arwtork.

I like it. I think you could have taken some of the elements further, but being a personal, symbolic piece, it's really exactly where it needs to be. Very nice.

This one fought with me for ages. I wanted to do so many things with it, but it ended up not panning out. XD Like originally, I wanted the background black for high contrast with the birds, but then I was like "well crap, then that would drown out the outlines".

The best photo manipulation art done in October are featured in this article, picked by me. It doesn't necessarily mean it is really the best; but it rather reflects my personal taste in the subject. I recommend you take a look and tell me Your opinion .
As someone who has always prided herself on giving credit where it is due, it really boils my blood to see so many people on DA who really don't seem to give a damn about copyright infringements. So, I have written a sort of FAQ's of different issues I have come across. I know that a bunch of articles have been written about this subject, but I feel that I should do all that I can to help.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P

The phoenixes look stunning. I love how you drew their form. And the glow on the stems totally adds to it <33
Love it, love it, love it.
On another, more sour note...
